Moonlit Steel Yard Wedding in Providence Rhode Island by Allison Markova

Amanda and Christiaan had an intimate ceremony & reception at a floral studio in Providence surrounded but their closest family and friends. Flowers by Semia worked their magic and turned this little space into the most beautiful venue filled with soft candlelight, living walls, texture & dreamy tones.

These two have a nontraditional love story- growing apart and then finding each other again- the perfect reminder that it may be the right person... just not at the right time. Love always seems to find a way. Adore this little family.

"Darling, I do believe you hung the moon...."

Wellfleet Anniversary Session by Allison Markova

These two. If you can believe it, they've been married for 13 years.

I met up with Chiana & Brent in Wellfleet, MA to explore the trails and beaches. They wanted to celebrate their 13th anniversary with the wedding photos they never had. Chiana is an artist and Brent is a sign language interpreter and they are two of the sweetest people. We hiked some swampy trails before running down the beach at sunset.  More adventurous couples please!

New Hampshire Adventure Session by Allison Markova

I met up with Karissa & Brandon at Clough State Park in New Hampshire. We had never met before but these new friends turned out to be two of the sweetest, most down to earth people. Brandon looks at Karissa like she put the stars in the sky.

We caught that good last light before the sun disappeared behind the hills... and it was magical.

Friendsgiving 2016 by Allison Markova

"Here is to the gratitude for that place of pause today. Find it in the company you keep. The hug to be had. The glass to clink. The quiet of its close.

We are — each of us — the sum of all of life’s tables around which we have sat."

A couple of weeks ago, Semia and her team invited me to join them for an evening of food, creativity, and conversation amongst friends at their Providence Steelyard studio. Flowers by Semia created a beautiful tablescape complete with hand-dyed mosses, seeds, pumpkins, mushrooms, and rich linens. The table was later re-designed to include seasonal centerpieces made by guests, and Gracie's served up their usual deliciousness on a stunning new collection of porcelain and stoneware from the talented creators at J Schatz. All in all, it was a lovely evening spent with old friends and new. I hope everyone remembered this past weekend to enjoy the simple pause of gathering together with loved ones, good friends, and even new acquaintances.

I've been working on a few personal projects lately that I can't share yet- so I apologize for the infrequency of my posts. I am excited to be working on projects that I am passionate about and that challenge me creatively.

Dahlias & Development by Allison Markova

I had the pleasure of meeting Semia and her wonderful team through a previous styled shoot and could not have been more thrilled when she asked me to be a part of the Dahlias & Development Workshop last month. Semia's studio is an inspiring space- full of character, industrial details, and incredible light. I enjoyed meeting each of the talented floral designers who participated, seeing them create, and talking business, branding, and photography.
